In last February's workshop with Jonathon Reed we dove into the reasons why boys, in particular, are drawn to problematic anti-feminist online influencers and how we, as adults, can empower them to challenge those harmful ideas.
But developing the skills and understanding to effectively engage youth in transformative conversations takes some practice, and we still have some questions to explore…
So are you struggling to respond effectively to youth when they say or do potentially harmful things? Interested in bringing transformative conversations into your community or work? Eager to get some practice? Look no further!
Join the Pathways community on Tuesday, 9th April at 10am Pacific Time for this 90 minute session with Jonathon, Director of Programs at NGM, as we…
⭐️ Recap the structure of transformative conversations
⭐️ Explore different questioning techniques to open dialogues
⭐️ Discuss strategies for one-on-one versus group settings
⭐️ Learn how to integrate the framework into your work
⭐️ Practice transformative conversations in breakout rooms with fellow Pathways members (and enjoy getting to know each other a little better!)
🤔 There’s a little prework for this one! Before the session have a think about scenarios or examples when you have witnessed a young person voicing a harmful idea. Perhaps they shared the thought with you directly, or maybe you overheard it. We’ll use breakout rooms and explore how we might respond to these situations during the workshop.
While some of the content in this session builds on Jonathon’s previous workshop for Pathways, you are more than welcome to attend even if you didn’t make it to the last one. We’ll spend some time recapping at the start so the content will still make sense.
This workshop is for Pathways Members only.
