NGM Goes to the Theatre

  • Tarragon Theatre 30 Bridgman Avenue Toronto, ON, M5R 1X3 Canada (map)

Toronto! 🤩

Join us for our first-ever theatre event! We're watching the play Four Minutes Twelve Seconds at the Tarragon Theatre, and then discussing the play at the Annex Social.

From unsolicited d*ck pics to nonconsensual sharing of nude photos, sexual harassment in our DMs, the proliferation of misogynistic ‘influencers’, and sextortion, the internet has offered new avenues for sexual exploitation, harassment, and blackmail. It’s rough out there for adults, let alone teens.

So how do we protect, educate, and guide youth toward safer and healthier behaviours? And what do we do if our child has harmed someone else? How would parents cope with the unimaginable? And how can we all grapple with the new possibilities that technology offers, while understanding how to keep one another safe in an increasingly online world?

James Fritz's taut, darkly comic, and deeply provocative Olivier Award-nominated drama, Four Minutes Twelve Seconds, explores consent, privilege, and the insidious opportunities new technology offers.

Join the NGM Toronto crew for:

  1. The matinee performanceof Four Minutes Twelve Seconds at the Tarragon Theatre at 2pm ET on Sunday April 21, 2024. Please purchase your tickets here, and use the discount code NGM25 for 25% off!

  2. A discussion at the Annex Social right after the show! We'll dig into the themes of the play, how these themes play out (hah, puns) in the larger world, and what we can do as individuals and a collective to prevent & repair harm. Please RSVP here, through this event page, to let us know to expect you! When you RSVP, you’ll get a link to join our local WhatsApp group that will help us find one another on the day of the event.

If you have questions about the event, please get in touch!

See you there!

Join NGM volunteers, members, and new friends as we dive into the discussion, one question at a time! Our focus is typically on how men and masculinity fit into the feminist movement, but folks of all genders & backgrounds are welcome to attend.
