Hello Vancouver! 🤩
Where did you first learn what it meant to “be a man”? Who taught you, and what were the lessons? How do you now feel about those lessons? What have you kept and what have you let go of?
What does being an equal partner mean to you? What does it look like? What does it sound like? How do you actively practice it?
Who are your role models and what traits do they model for you? Are any of these traits ‘gendered’ (i.e. described as ‘masculine’ or ‘feminine’) and if so, what does that mean to you?
How is gender equity good for men? (bonus: can you explain 5 different ways it’s good for men?)
Join us for another Meet Up Event with NGM’s Vancouver crew! We’ll dig into questions like these (and others), learning with and from each other’s experiences.
🙋 What you can expect:
A lively conversation, digging into important questions around masculinity, mental wellness, and healthy relationships in a casual & friendly atmosphere.
A place to unwind after work and enjoy the sun!
A chance to hang out with some of the volunteers, members, and staff at Next Gen Men!
🧡 Our hope is that:
People walk away from the conversation feeling energized and hopeful!
By exploring gender equity, healthy relationships, mental wellness, and positive visions for masculinity, we can reflect on our values, beliefs, and behaviours.
We can learn with and from one another’s experiences and perspectives, feeding curiosity and compassion for ourselves & others.
📣 Important notes:
As this is an outdoor event and we cannot control the weather (unfortunately), this event is weather-dependent! Rain or smoke may force us to reschedule, but we will let all attendees know on the day of.
Do you have a dog who is friendly with other dogs?! Please feel free to bring them — we love dogs!
We will bring some light snacks to share, but there are a few places where food is available for purchase near the park.
Further instructions about where to find our group and how to contact them will be provided upon registration.
If you have questions about the event, please get in touch.
Hope to see you there!
Join NGM volunteers, members, and new friends as we dive into the discussion, one question at a time! Our focus is typically on how men and masculinity fit into the feminist movement, but folks of all genders & backgrounds are welcome to attend.
