NGM Circle: Masculinity & Break-Ups

Break-ups , separations, divorce — these are such tough experiences.

We might feel heartbroken, we might feel thrown into the chaos of rapid change, we might feel anger or deep sadness, regret, shame, or fear. There's so much to process and it can be A LOT.

We're curious to explore: how can our ideas about masculinity help or hinder our healing after a break-up?

What are some of the messages men receive about how to "be a man" that might impact how we feel, behave, or react when we're going through a break-up? If guys are told to "man up" or "get over it", how much might it impact their ability to process and heal when a relationship ends?

How are men socialized to handle rejection and break-ups? How does jealousy or anger play a role? What can the end result look like?

How do other men tend to support each other when grieving the end of a relationship? What's working, and what's not working? How can we best support men through rejection or separation?

How might challenging some of the messages men receive about how to "be a man" in their relationships lead to better outcomes during break-ups or separations?

Join us on January 26 at 7pm Mountain Time as we dig into these questions and explore the impact of masculinity on break-ups!
