NGM Thoughts 19: mOS
The Male Operating System (mOS) is what our hardware (brain and body) is programmed with over the course of our lives. Version 3.0 can include ‘boys don’t cry,’ at about 16.0 we might be told that relentless persistence is key in securing our romantic interests, and by version 22.0 we’d better be ready to crunch some Excel and make some bank.
We’ve seen a few different mOS over the centuries. Whether that be the original mOS ‘Caveman Hunter,’ which eventually became mOS ‘Farmer,’ some guys bought mOS ‘Explorer’ while others opted (read: were pushed into) mOS ‘Labourer.’ Today we have far more choices of mOS with all kinds of different features.
Sure you can update the version with patches year-over-year, but similar to why Windows canned XP not too long ago—the old system is no longer supported. Quit hitting ‘remind me later’ on your updates and get the latest mOS—Next Gen Men. New features including: empathy, caregiving, and respect. The catcalling, apathy, and dominance bugs have been removed.
