Announcing GiveMagic!
We’re making a change!
Next Gen Men has been generously supported through patrons like you, on Patreon, for a little over a year now. Through this crowd-funding platform, you have rallied around us, and strengthened us (to the tune of just over $10,000!) which has supported our current and future programming, as we collectively work to engage and educate men and boys around gender.
We could not have come this far without you, so thank you!
Today, we are excited to offer a new way to support us, via GiveMagic.
GiveMagic was founded by two awesome humans (shout out to Michael and Justin!) who noticed a problem: giving is on the decline in Canada, and nonprofits need an innovative way to adapt. So, after much consultation, planning, and taking a big leap, GiveMagic was born.
GiveMagic is the first donor experience platform of its kind in Canada. This innovative new tool is embedded into our website, concentrating more of our online presence into one space (as opposed to having both our own website, and a page on Patreon). More importantly however, GiveMagic is Canadian, and allows supporters to donate in Canadian dollars!
A few important things for folks to know:
Our Patreon will remain active for the next few months, in order to give you, our wonderful supporters, plenty of time to make the switch, if you choose to (we hope you stick with us)!
Please let us know if you have any questions, or run into any difficulties with either Patreon or GiveMagic. We want to support a smooth transition!
We are working toward obtaining charitable status, as we are currently a nonprofit. Once we secure charitable status in Canada, we will be able to issue charitable tax receipts for all contributions over $20 on GiveMagic. We may be looking at a 12-18 month process, but we’ll keep you posted!
As we did with Patreon, we will include perks and swag for folks who choose to become donors through GiveMagic—your support means so much, and we want to recognize it!
Thanks for joining us on this journey! It’s been awesome to have a community of supporters who have our back, and this move is just one way we are trying to better have yours.
Email us and we’d be happy to answer any questions you may have!
