Next Gen Mentors was really helpful in understanding how best to support boys. It not only offers deeper insight into the pressures that boys face and their impact on boys’ well-being—but also provides solutions and discussions with fellow educators about how those ideas can actually be implemented. Also, they have so many helpful resources that you can look back on and keep with you long after the series has finished. Would highly recommend!

There’s been continuous conversation with the people from my school about this session. Also, I brought up belonging and ‘boy behaviour’ and making space for people in a sixth grade meeting.

The boys that I work with have no issues having discussions or participating in the activities I have planned for them since the training. They have great insight and have fun when they participate.

With fellow prefects (seniors living and working in the ninth-grade dorm), we shared how boys tend to act out/cause harm to establish themselves in a new group, and it helped us to build empathy for the students we are working with and gave us a framework to work from.

The Next Gen Mentors workshops went really well with our full staff, better than I expected actually! The feedback from the staff has been really positive, even staff who missed the pro-d have been asking about how they can access the content. We learned and had great discussions about our roles as individuals, and as a community, to have a positive impact on the boys and young men in our school.

These presentations continue to be wonderful. The right information at the right time. The pacing is wonderful and the conversations that are sparked have been extremely impactful. We are currently toying with the idea of how we implement some of these strategies within the restrictions of a school schedule and busy culture.

I continue to recommend the program to other schools and will continue to support Next Gen Men as we work together to create safe and nurturing spaces in schools that will prepare our boys for positive experiences in the community and later in life.
